If Sarah Palin Was a Man

Will someone please remind me what decade we are currently living in? I must have woken up in the 1950's. If Sarah Palin was a man, the media would hardly even talk about her family. The world does not ask male politicians if their kids are being well taken care of. The world does not question whether a man can "have it all". For some reason men are born with the right to have a career AND a family and nobody thinks twice. I thought that our society had grown past this kind of thing, but I guess that I was wrong.

In case no one is paying attention Governor Palin has a husband, older kids, and many other family members that appear more than willing to help her grasp this awesome opportunity that she has been given.

Then there is the situation with Palin's daughter Bristol. Are people really blaming Sarah Palin for the actions of her daughter? This just boggles my mind. I do not care how you raise your kids or how close you are to them, they are their own people. People make mistakes plain and simple. Would the country rather Mrs. Palin turn her back on her daughter? Instead she is doing what any good parent does, she is loving her daughter. I imagine this was not what the Palins had hoped for their daughter in terms of timing, but now what matters is being there for their daughter through this time. How hard must it be to be thrust in the lime light, especially now.

How many people do you know that have accomplished what Sarah Palin has? She is a wife, a mother, a governor, and possibly the next vice president of our country. She also just had a baby 4 months ago that has downs syndrome, she has a son headed to Iraq, and she has been given this great chance to make history and help shape our nation. Sarah Palin has handled all of this will style and grace. If that does not paint the picture of someone with the courage to help lead this country, I do not know what people are looking for.
