I have been thinking of getting piano lessons for my oldest daughter. She is only 4 and a half but she really loves music. My mom played her a small bit of chopsticks one day and the next day my daughter played it almost dead on...I was floored!
My mom got an old upright piano for her front room so that all the grand kids would be exposed to music and feel free to play around with it. I was wondering what it would cost to get it tuned and maybe restored one day. I found this awesome company Lindeblad Piano. Not only do they restore pianos, they also do piano moving and sell pianos and accessories including refurbished Steinways. They have a really cool multimedia tour of several different restorations on their site. The company has been around for four generations, so they must be doing something right!
I can just imagine her eyes if I were to get her a baby grand piano someday. I hope she retains this love of music, I know we are going to do everything we can to help her pursue it. We may not start out with the baby grand, but one day who knows?

I have always wished that i was more musical... I have a great appreciation for it, but I could never get the habg of doing something completely different with both of my hands on the keyboard. My piano teache finally told my mom she had done all she could.
I use to know a few songs on the piano,, but only from practicing,, not from being able to read music. I wish I would have had the situation for lessons when I was little. That is another reason I hope to give my kids the chance to try things,,, things that I missed out on. I guess most parents want that kind of thing for their kids.
Thanx for reading my blog!
