More Halloween Pictures

I wanted to share some more pictures I took while we were trick or treating the other day. I loved this dog in costume...a HOT DOG! LOL. And this dog was big,,,looked like he has eaten plenty of hot dogs in his day!

And I don't know if you can see it well enough in the picture, but this cute little dog was dressed like a Bumblebee! How Cute.

I have a cool one of a kid dressed as a rubic's cube, but have not had time to block out his face with something. I figured since I don't like to post pics of my own kids' faces, I shouldn't post someone else's kids eh?

Hunting For Deals on Hunting Gear

It is that time of year again. My hubby wants to get all geared up to go get that "Big Buck". He says he would like to have a nice set of binoculars to take out with him. You know me,, when I want to know more about something I hit the internet and do research. I found out Nikon is having this cool promotion on
Nikon Monarch and Trailblazer Binoculars where if you buy one of the Monarch ATB binoculars you get a $50 gift card and a $25 gift card when you get either a Trailblazer ATB, an Action Extreme ATB, or a ProStaff binocular. You can check out the offer here. I do not know which my hubby would like better. I would like to surprise him, but I don't want to get the wrong thing. I guess I will have to show him the site and have him decide.

Obama Can Be President but Not an FBI Agent

I heard on the radio today, that with all the questionable associates Barack Obama has that he would not pass the security clearance background check that is takes to become an FBI agent. I never thought of it that way, but when you think about it, even if you are for Obama, that is pretty ironic don't you think?

He could not get enough security clearance to be an FBI agent, but if elected president, he will have more knowledge and security clearance than any agent,,HA!

I don't buy into all the "fear" of Obama being muslim or not, but I do think his past relationships are reason for concern. And any wealth I get I need to "share" with my family first.

So a guy that could not be an FBI Agent might be president, over a verified war hero...hahahaha,,,Got to LOVE AMERICA either way. This proves any one has a chance to be anything whether you like it or not eh?

Shopping for Greeting Cards and Stuff

Every year I say I am going to get Christmas cards out early, some years it doesn't happen at all. I was looking around the web for Personalized Christmas Cards and found a site called GalleryCollection.com. They have cards for all occasions of course like birthdays, holidays, etc but I never thought about them having gift wrap assortments and other lovely things too.

In my family we have birthdays in October, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, then there is January, February and March birthdays all in a row. We have them all through out the year like most families,,but that is the biggest string of occasions we have. I need tons of cards and gift wrap every year. I saw some really nice gift wrap sets on this site, and little extras like those foil seals that you put on the envelopes. I was looking at the gift wrap assortments, and they are so nice that I might actually give a set or two as presents themselves to friends of mine who enjoy wrapping gifts too. Wouldn't that be a cool, unexpected gift for someone to open?

I read somewhere that this company is donating greeting cards to the Cincinnati Children's hospital to cheer up some of the sick, young patients there. GalleryCollection.com is donating something like 800 cards to the children. I know my kids love getting cards, I think this is a nice way to put a smile on the kids' faces. I love it when companies do things like that!

Trick or Treats

We had trick or treat early in our neighborhood this year. I wanted to share a pic of something I liked while we were out. I will probably post one pic now, and others in subsequent posts.

Here is one yard decoration that I really liked, I might try it next year. It is kind of a Jack o Lantern totem pole.

I wonder how high you could build one of these? Hmm plans for next year growing in my head...poor hubby ! LOL

Track Annoying Phone Calls

Did you know that their is a site where you can Report Phone Numbers ? Say you get a call from a particular number and you know it is a scam. You can go to this site and see if anyone else gets calls from this number too. If no body else has reported the number yet, you can start a file on them to tell others what the calls are about.

Or if you get a number pop up on your caller ID that you don't recognize you can also go to this site to see what it might be about. I personally hate unwanted phone calls. I think if a business is going to call my house, they should not be able to hide behind and unlisted phone number, or having 50 phone numbers for the same business. That alone would tell me that the business is not reputable. Who would want to do business with a place that wants to hie its name or real phone number?

ReportPhoneNumbers.com can help us all keep track of these sneaky, disreputable time wasters.

Hedging Out The Spiders

I have still been looking for natural ways to ward spiders away from our house. My mom and dad were running around the other day, and they pulled over at this old farm house so that my dad could check out some bucket of bolts,,I mean antique car LOL.

My mom started talking to the lady of the house and as they were talking my mom noticed some odd green orbs along the foundation of the farmhouse. My mom asked the lady what they were, and she explained that they were HEDGE APPLES. Hedge Apples? Come to find out they are a fruit that grow around there, and people have been using them for ages to ward spiders from their homes.

Hedge apples Pictures, Images and Photos I did not think to get a picture of the ones my mom brought home before they started to age..so I found this one one photobucket.com

I will let you know how they do.....

Finding The Time For Education

I read a statistic this morning that said that online forms of education enrollment is five times higher than traditional enrollment. I think more people are opting for Online Degrees because of the flexibility of scheduling and probably costs issues as well.

There are often many more options for scheduling and online degree than a traditional brick and mortar school. These days people are so pressed for time, with family, work, etc but they still want to get more education and better their lives. It takes hard work and dedication to finish any type of education, If you can make it fit into your schedule when it is best for you, I think you have a better chance at success.

If you have been thinking of pursuing an online degree, try Edvisors.com . It is a directory of online degree programs and courses. It would be a good place to start to see what is out there.

A Fungus Among Us

Check this out...

My Husband was walking around the backyard the other day and came across this odd mushroom...or whatever it is. I should have put something next to it in the picture for scale, but it is about the size of a basketball.

Now I like to eat mushrooms, but I think I will pass on this sucker LOL!

Looking For Good Dinning Room Chairs

I don't know about you, but I hate sitting down at my dinning room table and having the chair wobble or feel like it is going to fall apart. We have bought different types of chairs over the years, and spent varying amounts of money trying to get good, sturdy chairs.

With a busy family full of kids, we can wear a chair out pretty fast. I started to think about what I could try next. Where could I get solid, well made chairs? I found AffordableSeating.net. Now they are a commercial furniture supplier, but why not buy this stuff for my home? Restaurant furniture sees even more traffic and abuse than my home dining set does, and it must hold up better..right?

I was looking on this site and not only do they have regular tables and chairs, and commercial bar furniture, but they gave heavy duty patio furniture as well. I never thought about that! Awesome... I am going to out smart my furniture climbing little ones yet!

Some of the bar furniture would be really cool for decorating a rec room too. Get some diner style booths and a few stools, you could do a whole theme in your kitchen or where ever. SO whether you are decking out your restaurant or your house, check them out.

The Origins of Candy Corn

I have been posting different holiday tips, recipes etc. I love finding out why something is named what it is, or where it came from. Like with my post on Lucky Charms cereal. After some investigation, I have found the origins of candy corn.....

Ahahah! I got this in an email. I don't know who made it, but it is hilarious! (to me)

A Good Display Can Attract Buyers

My father has been a professional artist for many years. I grew up in a self employed family, so I think I have a different perspective than most people when it comes to presenting a good image for a business.

One of the things my dad does is business lettering, like signs and vehicles. I do not know how often I will run into a business that has put time an energy into their service or product and have thought of every little detail, or so they thought, but neglected good signage or displays. The front of your business, or your booth at a craft fair, or trade show is the first and sometimes only chance you have to grab the attention of buyers. I for one am less likely to go into a business if the outside looks shabby or run down,,aren't you? The same is true for displays, the better they look, the more people will pay attention.

My dad makes his own signs and banners obviously, but he often needs frames and stands on which to display his signage or artwork. I found this cool site called CamelBackDisplays.com. They make everything from trade show displays, to banner stands and those cool truss system displays. I think the banners stands would work well for a display for my dad, and the light boxes they have would be awesome too. They even have brochure racks and the drapes and ropes for exhibits. Those would be cool when dad goes to car shows.

Finding "NON YUCKY" Socks

Well, after a grueling 3 hours at a local department store I managed to find some socks that my 3 year old will where. I also bought her two new pairs of shoes ( one was cheap on clearance). I was so happy I was almost giggling.

Then when we got home I said show Daddy your new shoes baby. She looks at me, looks at the pink shoes, looks at me...I get that familiar feeling of foreboding. She says, " those aren't the shoes I picked?!, I am not wearing those shoes!" I swear I almost passed out.

I told her not to talk to me about it anymore today that we would talk about it tomorrow. Miracle of Miracles she wore the socks AND the shoes all day,,,didn't even want to take off her new pretty pink shoes in the house. I tried to let her leave them on since they were new and clean, but after getting my own toes stepped on twice I feared for the safety of her siblings' delicate digits.

Let's see how it goes tomorrow.... :O)

Custom Home Builder on YoutTube

I was talking the other day about Schumacher custom builders, and how beautiful the houses they build are. I found this clip about Schumacher on youtube Schumacher Homes Video and thought I would share.

I love seeing how other houses are decorated and the different floor plans. I am a home show junkie. whether it is a new home being built from scratch or an older home being rehabbed, I love watching. I even watch the show on Sunday mornings that displays the homes for sale in the area. You get to see pictures of the inside and outside...I don't know why but I find it interesting. Maybe I should go into real estate?

Or maybe it is a side effect of being married to a future construction Engineer, lol. We will seriously get one of those floor plan books and just pour over it and talk about the different features we would want in ur dream house one day. It's fun to dream.

Pumpkin is Yummy and Good For You

Tis the season for Jack o' Lanterns, pumpkin pie and roasted pumpkin seeds.

I love baking and often use it for a stress reliever. I just read on RealAge.com that the phenols in pumpkin can actually work to relax your veins similar to blood pressure medicine. So when you make that yummy pumpkin pie (or at least warm it up in the oven lol) it not only makes you happy with thoughts of holidays and family, but it physically makes you healthier.

It talks about using the canned pumpkin in soups and stews. I have ever used pumpkin filling in a savory dish, but it sounds interesting. I usually make sweet cream cheese filled pumpkin rolls. I wonder if I knock out the health benefits with the cream cheese lol.

It also talks about how roasted pumpkin seeds are good for you because of the good kinds of fats they have. Mmmm I have not made any seeds yet this season. Ok now I am hungry. I see a trip to the produce market in my immediate future lol.

But check out that article, there were links there too to other recipes,,yum!

I Am Cougar, Hear Me Roar

Well, I am not at cougar age yet, well I don't know...what is the official starting age of a cougar? Do you know what I am talking about? It is the term they gave to when women date men that are younger than they are. I think it is a cool term...roar! lol I guess it does not matter if I am the right age or not, because I don't think my hubby wants me to date HA!

I might have to tell my aunt about this site where you can Meet Florida Cougars though. It says they even have webcam chat. Sounds like she could have a lot of fun!

Another Cool eHow

Ok here is a Halloween treat for the adults. Some at eHow made an article on how to make eyeball drink garnishes,,,lol hilarious!

Check them out, they are made from radishes and green olives. Why didn't I think of this?

I am looking around eHow for cool Halloween and Christmas ideas. I will post my favorites here...I am sure I will find more!

I Barbeque, Do You?

Well actually my hubby does the barbecuing in our family. I mean I can stick something on the grill, but true barbecuing is an art.

There is an ongoing debate in our house though over whether using a gas grill is proper for true BBQ etiquette. My hubby swears by his charcoal grill. While I agree that charcoal or wood fired meat tastes better, when you just want to throw a couple of burgers on the grill real quick, I like the speed and ease of a propane grill,,,click, click, woosh,...cook! LOL I guess they make both, because they both have their purpose.

Now when my hubby is planning on going the whole nine yards and doing up some ribs, that is a whole different story. He will take his time and rinse and dry the ribs, mix up his own special rub, coat the meat and let it set for a while letting the flavor soak into the meat.

He has a pretty good grill now, but it has quite a few miles on it. I found IBuyBarbeques.com and I would love to get him one of the awesome grills they have on there. Check this out, they have a barbecue recipe contest going on right now. You can win up to 400 dollars for a winning recipe. It says you can submit any recipe as long as it involves a grill at some point LOL..cool.

To qualify for the $400 grand prize drawing - you must submit your entry URL to dan@ibuystores.com.

I should have my hubby submit his rub recipe...it is so delicious, and 400.00 would sure be nice!

A Cupcake eHow

I was over at eHow and found this Halloween cupcake how to. It is not one of mine, but I liked it anyway LOL. I really need to get busy writing over there.

There are links to other cool holiday how tos too...is that proper English? LOL

Anyway check it out if you are looking for some holidays ideas.

Kids Say The Funniest Things

My husband and I celebrated our 10th Wedding anniversary about a week ago. When I was trying to explain to my 4 1/2 year old daughter what and anniversary was I told her it was like how we celebrate your birthday once a year. I explained that that an anniversary was a celebration of mine and daddy's "dum dum da dum" ( Which is what she calls getting married :o) )

I saw the light bulb of recognition go off above her head and a smile sprout on her face. She says " You and Daddy can go outside and share a pop and a beer and two straws and THAT is love!" I was about to cry I was laughing so hard! I asked if that was love because we would be sharing, and she said YEP!

The only thing I am still lost on, is if she thought we were suppose to mix the beer and the pop together ,,yuck. Because usually when she says two straws she means in one glass...mmm maybe I'll just get Root Beer to be safe lol!

More Shopping at Shopwiki

OK, I am still on my Christmas shopping quest. I ended up back at Shopwiki.com.

I had been looking at the Nintendo Wii and the accessories for it. I think I might go ahead and get my dearest a game or gadget to go with the XBOX that he already has. Maybe one of those cooling systems or other fan stand. I know he likes role playing games and things like that where you have to think and react. Hmmm they have a list of "essential games" for each platform. Wonder which of these he would like?

Man I keep getting off on tangents on this sites, since they have links to everything. I need to be good and accomplish at least knocking one person off my "to buy for" list.

I remember playing my old Atari 2600. I loved Pong, and Pitfall. Ah, the good ol' days! What is or was your favorite video game or gaming platform?

More on Fall Color

I of course never have my camera on me when I need it. I was out running errands this morning and it was cold, but the air smelled great. I passed some awesome foliage on my little trip.

It just struck me how nice scenery can make even mundane tasks more enjoyable. Now if I just remember my camera next time!

I took this picture the other day in the back yard.

It was brighter in person.

Building a New Home

I told you before that my hubby got to be part of a rebuilding project in Houma, Louisiana. He went as part of his school's Alternative Spring Break program. He is taking a Construction Engineering Technology degree in college.

He has already been in the construction industry for several years, so he has gotten to know most of the builders in our area. Schumacher Homes is a pretty well known builder in Ohio. I have seen many beautiful houses that have built in my area. I did not realize until my husband was talking about them one day, that they are national company.

We were wondering how the people in Louisiana were doing after being hit by another hurricane. There was already so much rebuilding going on from hurricanes Rita and Katrina. I bet the Schumacher Homes Louisiana branch is buzzing with business.

OH Great My Bra Died!

I was already not looking forward to going shoe and sock shopping for my daughter, now my last good under wire bra just had a blow out! UGH!

Hey, where is that Bra site link I just had? I mean I have a few others but this was the last one I had that I really liked to wear. Ohh well, I guess I will have to be a big girl and get some new stuff too!

Finding a Good Web Host

I was wanting to reevaluate my web host provider, to see if their service and rates still stacked up against the competition. They were in good standing when I picked them, but things can change in a year or two.

If you like to blog, or have another type of website and pay for your own hosting, you want to make sure you are getting the best deal you can afford. Sometimes a deal is not just reflected in a lower price than the next guy. I for instance rather pay a little more and get good customer service, or extra storage space.

At Webhostingrating.com you can see how a variety of companies stack up. They have a five star rating system, and they show you at a glance how much each is a month, the amount of storage you get, downloads, etc for that price.

I am also glad I stopped by, because I found a very useful article on DOMAIN NAMES. I have been thinking about playing around with sub domains, but I always get lost when I try to figure it out. They have a lot of other useful articles on the site too.

How does your host rate?

Palin On SNL

I can NOT believe I forgot to watch Saturday Night Live tonight. Even though I have been a little annoyed at them lately with some of their attitudes, I still wanted to see the real Sarah Palin on there. I walked into the rook right as she was finished a Weekend Update skit. That is EXACTLY what I though she should do, is Tina Fey's old job on there....too funny! Oh wait,, there was just a commercial that said I could watch it on NBC.com...thank you! Now I can stop freaking out lol. Sorry this looks like one big run on sentence. I get a glitch once in awhile and my return stops working LOL I will fix it tomorrow. Be more on the ball with the TV updates next time HSM! LOL wink wink

More Christmas Shopping

I was looking around for something I could send to out of state loved ones on my list. I like to send unusual stuff when I can.

Do you have any book lovers on your list? Bookbouquet.com has these really cool book gift baskets that would be great for Holiday gifts, but I need to put them in my favorites because they have baskets for so many different occasions.

They have everything from Children's gifts, birthday gifts, get well gifts, sympathy gifts and even baby gifts. I wish I had found this site the last time I needed a shower gift. They have a Baby Einstein basket that is actually a diaper bag filled with books, baby bath items, toys, all sorts of stuff. It is so cute!

I heard that if you put "FreeShip" in the coupon code area of your order, that you will get free UPS ground shipping. That could really add up especially if you are sending more than one basket.

Shopping for Shoes and Socks

If you have been reading my blog , you know that my 3 year old daughter is going through the not wanting to wear clothes and shoes because they feel "yucky". Well we I have been letting her wear her favorite pink canvas shoes without socks, since they are comfortable to her and it reduces one conflict.

Well, now that it is getting colder I have to face getting her to wear a new pair of shoes. My mom bought her two other pairs of new shoes recently and she won't wear either. UGH. I do not know what I am going to find that she will wear, but we have to find socks too. I finally found panties that she will wear SOMETIMES,,, but socks? I don't even like to wear socks much myself so I know what she is going through.

I went through this phase when I was little too. Some people think it is " all in your head" but I can attest that it is not. They have named it now days, and while I hate labels, this one seems to fit. They call it Sensory Processing Disorder I think, and there are a couple of other names as well. From what I can gather it has something to do with your nerves being super sensitive to touch.

I can still remember the physical pain of the sock line feeling like it was grinding into my toes. I don't think I had the problem with the tags so much, but rough elastic,,OMG! Get it away from me LOL. I still don't like tight elastic, but who does really?

Anyway, wish me luck shoe and sock shopping..I will need it!

Starting my Christmas Shopping

To some people it is a little late in already, but I am trying to start my Christmas shopping. I always say I am going to buy a little at a time through out the year, but it never seems to happen.

I found this site called Shopwiki.com that helps me search many stores at once. Isn't the internet wonderful? Even if I feel like braving the crowds once in awhile, I like doing my research online first if possible. By using a site like this you can see what stores carry what you are looking for, or what a good price is to pay etc.

Who should I look for first? My hubby? Maybe video games for him. If I get "him" a Wii, then I could always get the iFit for me..ahahaha. Oh, look at those costumes, they have a whole section with costumes and even if you have yours for this Halloween, you can get some for dress up play. My kids love to do that. It even gives tips on the page on putting together a dress up trunk..how cool.

I will definitely be back to shop on this site again!

Making a Pinecone Bird Feeder

Hey, those pine cones are all over the ground now. It is a great time to make a pine cone wreath or bird feeder.

I wrote up some instructions on ehow.com. They are really fun and easy to make. If you want full instructions check out the link.

I was thinking of making batches of the and giving the as holiday gifts for people to use now. I love doing crafts with my girls and spending time outdoors especially.

Making Car Repair Less of a Headache

Do you ever get a knot in your stomach when you think about getting your car fixed? Finding a reputable auto repair shop can be a daunting task. You worrying about their qualifications and if their car repair prices are fair.

There is this site RepairPal.com, that has put together a great collection of resources for vehicle owners. You can go there and search for a repair shop in your area and see how they are rated. So is you are in need San Francisco car repair, you can see how the shops around you stack up.

I think my favorite feature on the sites is the one that lists common problems associated with different makes and models of vehicles. I can check specifically for Ford Taurus repair, and get common problems, ratings and reviews on it. There is even an area where you can log and track your vehicle maintenance. Pretty cool!

I Got Out to Dinner

By miracle of miracles we managed to get our family out of the house for dinner last night. The task included getting a 9 month old baby, and two little girls ready to go. My one little girl does not want to wear socks or shoes right now, so this was a bit of an ordeal, but we got through it.

We went to a Hibachi style Japanese restaurant that is about a 30 - 45 minute drive from our house. My husband, our oldest daughter and I had been there before , but our other two kids and my parents had never been before. My husband and I had been wanting to go back for 2 years or so now. We got a new Entertainment book that other day and it had a deal in there for this restaurant so you could save up to 14.99 on your meal depending on what you ordered.

Well with a coupon and all you kind of have to go don't you? LOL! It was really funny because as soon as we talked about maybe going to dinner that night our 4 1/2 year old that had been there with us before said " why don't we go to that place where they make the volcano at our table?!" That is exactly where we were thinking of going...how do kids know these things?

We had a fabulous dinner, and the kids were all very well behaved considering the excitement and all. The baby fell asleep on the way to the restaurant and woke up mid way through the chef cooking our dinner at our table. ( Why I left the house without my camera, I do not know) But I looked down and the baby is awake and just taking it all in. His eyes were like saucers. I got him up in to my lap just in time to get the full view of the onion ring volcano that spouted fire.

All the kids,,,and adults,..loved the show and the meal immensely. Even the baby got to have some rice and sauteed zucchini, but just a few bites. The one time I went to put the fork in MY mouth he squawked at me like HEY! WHERE'S MINE! lol.

It was a great night!

Online Furniture Store

I found this online furniture store, eRoomservice.com, that has some awesome modern furniture designs.

For some homes, or rooms, contemporary furniture or Italian furniture does not work, but if you are shopping for designer furniture, I would stop by this site for sure.

The site itself even has a sleek modern feel, very crisp and clean and easy to navigate. I think my favorite section was the kids play sets and bedroom furniture. There is this one table and chair set that slides together to form a cube. I would love to get some of those for the kids.

At the very least, you might get inspired to try and new style!

Signs of a Stroke

I wrote the other day about how important it is to notice the signs of a stroke or heart attack. We all know it is important when we think about it, but often we think about it too late.

Some one sent me an email with these tips for testing signs of a stroke. I don't really know how definitive it is, but it makes sense. I wanted to post the list to inform people, but the best thing to do if you even suspect a stroke or heart attack, is to go the Emergency Room or call 911 right away if you can not get to the hospital yourself.

Here is the email...

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R.

Please read:STROKE IDENTIFICATION:A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE - Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR .
Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke..Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an indication of a stroke.

Buying Tickets Online

NBA Tickets

My husband and I were thinking of taking our girls to the new Disney on Ice show that is coming around. I have never been to and "ice" show before, but I bet the girls would come unglued the first time they saw some pretty princess glide by on ice skates!

I ended up on StubPass.com and the have everything from Miami Heat Tickets or any NBA Tickets you are looking for , to Music concerts, Broadway shows, comedy tours anything you could buy a ticket to it seems. I really like how they have the events split up into categories to. Sometimes you want to do something, but you don't know just what. You can search by type of show, or venue etc.

Ooh they even have a section for stuff that is going on in Las Vegas. I would love to go back there. I didn't get to see any shows when I visited before. I am looking through the list of Vegas things on here, Penn and Teller, Cirque du Soleil, STOMP, The Chippendales. Hmmm, well I think the girls would like Cirque du Soleil or Stomp, but they will have to get older before they are allowed to see Penn and Teller or The Chippendales.

Joe The Plumber

I happen to live in Ohio, the same state where "Joe the Plumber" is from. This guy has been thrust in the spot light now, whether he meant to be there or not.

I read a quote from him in our local paper this morning. Mr. Wurzelbacher said in an interview with Katie Couric "I've always wanted to one of these guys a question, and really corner them and get them to answer a question for once instead of tap dancing around it. And unfortunately I asked the question, but I still got a tap dance." He added, " He was almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr." ( I smell a SNL skit there)

That is kind of funny! I wish he would have gotten a better answer too, but at least he got to ask. I have been wanting to ask the candidates how they stand on the GI Bill. Joe's having the guts to ask may bring him more grief than he deserves. Now the media is trying to discredit this man, saying things like "well he is not a licensed plumber anyway". What the heck is that suppose to mean? Maybe he is working on getting his license? It really has nothing to do with the point he was trying to make. He said he was getting ready to BUY a company, I don't think he would have to be a licensed plumber just to own it, but I could be wrong. Ugh, the media drives me crazy.

Speaking of Pretty Flowers

I posted that picture I took of my sunflower the other day. If you like that you should see the beautiful halloween gift flower arraignments they have at 1800Flowers.com. I was looking around there and I was awe struck!

I told you how much I love autumn colors and they have some great bouquets bursting with oranges, reds and yellows. Then there is this one bouquet that is all shades of violets and purples. I know it is not the first thing you think of for fall, but it is so pretty.

If I let my girls get on that site with me and pick what to send to our family, I am sure I would be on there for hours. "OOH look at that one Mommy!, ooh no look at that one" I can hear it now. Of course the kid in me thinks that same thing as I look at all the pretty flowers LOL!

I guess some things always make people smile, flowers, babies, rainbows, holidays.

I Love The Colors of Fall

I know sunflowers don't really grow in to the fall, but this picture I took last year of some sunflowers we grew always looked "fallish" to me.
The petals look like turning leaves, or maybe even like little wisps of flame licking up from a Autumn bonfire.
I know I get corny, but Fall is my favorite season and I think I love everything about it. The colors, the crisp air, the crunch of leaves under foot.....ahh fall!

Researching a Phone Number

If you know me or my blog, you probably know I love research. I am always looking for new and interesting online sources of information. Whether you are trying to identify a number on your caller ID, or even track down a long lost friend or relative a Reverse Phone Search site can really come in handy.

The one I linked to here had two options. If you just want one report on a particular number you can pay 14.95, but if you want to use their service frequently it only costs 39.95 for the WHOLE YEAR! Pretty sweet deal.

Through this site you can also pay a one time fee of 4.95 and have your personal information removed from some public databases.

More Baking Fun

I forgot when I was baking the pumpkin cake I had a cool thing happy. Well it was cool to me, but I am easily amused lol.

I was making Orange and green icing, but you start with the white at first right? Well I set aside some in a baggy to make the green then went about making orange. I added the yellow drops of food coloring, and mixed it for a few seconds, and then the red to make orange right?

When I lifted the top of the mixer up I looked at the whisk attachment and it looked to me almost like a big candy corn. I wish the picture would have come out better, but it was neat. Because whisk had first the white, then some yellow, followed by the orange. Like I said the pic came out kind of blurry, but I thought I would still share.

Genealogy is addictive

I love doing genealogy, but man is it addictive. You can definitely get lost literally and figuratively trying to piece together your family tree. I like going to the library when I can to pour over old micro fiche film, and scour dusty books but I can rarely get out to do that with three little ones.

That is why I am glad there are sites like FindFamilyTree.org that can help make the search easier. There are a few sites I frequent, what is your favorite source of information on your ancestors?

A Pumpkin For My Punkins

My girls wanted to make a cake the other day, so I got one of those halloween cake mixes they have out now with sprinkles in the box already. I did not realize though that the ones it came with were just regular orange and black sprinkles to mix into the batter. The pictures showed finished cupcakes with Bat and pumpkin sprinkles on top. These you must have had to be separate.

Luckily when you have little ones in the house, you have a stock of sprinkles in the cubby. So I mixed in some other ones I had to make the batter sprinkly ( is that a word) and saved the black and orange ones for the top. I also had some leaf shaped sprinkles left from another project, so that worked too. I do not know why I was worried though because when you let them "help" you sprinkle, you pretty much end up with a glob anyway. Could be bats, could be leaves, could be purple people eaters and no one would be able to tell the difference. LOL

The cake came out pretty cute though I think. The girls decided they wanted to use the Heart shaped pan we have, and after I baked it, it occurred to me that it kind of looked pumpkin shaped so I went with it and made orangish icing and green icing. and made it a pumpkin cake.

After I already had the orange icing on my hubby walks in and says something like "that's cool, but if you would have cut a little off the bottom of the heart it would have looked even more like a pumpkin" I say "Where were you a few minutes ago?" LOL but I keep it in mind for next year :o)

I think it came out alright for not being planned, I even used a baggy with the end cut off to pipe the green vine and leaf,,,not perfect, but that is one of the great things about baking for children if it is pretty and sweet they like it!

Ever Thought About Getting Your Own Server?

My blogging buddies and I were talking about what it would cost to set up your own server system. We were batting around guesses and figured it had to cost a few thousand dollars minimum. I found this site called Performance Data Resources. They have new and refurbished AS/400 servers and many other models.

I was pleasantly surprised to find they had many refurbished servers under 1500.00 and some even under 1000.00. I have to do some more research to see what size and features I would need to try an idea I have...nope not going to tell what the idea is LOL...but at least I shared with you where you can get a good deal on refurbished servers for your brain child!

About Time For Casey Anthony

Florida authorities finally indicted Casey Anthony on several charges, the biggest being 1st degree murder. An article I read said that if convicted she could be sentenced to death....COULD BE? Are legislators that nuts? I think if they don't throw every book in the library of congress at this woman it will be a mockery of justice.

I hope she finally comes to her senses enough to tell people where Callee's body is so that she can have a proper burial. Casey will probably use this information to get a lighter sentence, but I hope they do not offer this woman a deal. I can not understand why a parent rather be known as the parent that killed their child instead of the parent that walked away,or gave their child up for adoption. This little girl deserved better, as do all children.

I hope little Callee is at peace.

Shopping for Holsters

You know me, always looking around the internet for something. My husband and I were talking about getting our concealed carry permits the other day, and that led us to talking about what kind of holster we would want.

I found this site that has all sorts of Nylon gun holsters and many other types of holsters as well. I never imagined there were so many options. I haven't decided yet which one I would want to wear on my person, but I saw this neat one that hooks up to the seat in your care called the Car Buddy that I might get as well. It seems like it would be easier to access your firearm from one of these in your car, than a holster you were wearing, it would probably make driving more comfortable too.

The site is called USAHOLSTER.COM and they have some great offers like free shipping on orders of 50.00 or more, and with your first order they give you a Lifetime Member Code. When you use this code on future purchases you get 20% of those purchases. Many catalogs or sites I have shopped with make you pay a fee to become a member...FREE is one of my favorite words!

Ohio and the World is Better Off Today

Hurray for Ohio! Convicted scum, err..animal, err... killer Richard Cooey was executed today at 10:28 am. This low life has been sitting in prison for 22 years, draining the tax payers of Ohio. The whole time he was incarcerated he was not repentant or remorseful at all. His last statement was ''You [expletive] have not paid attention to anything I've had to say for the past 22 years. Why would you pay attention to anything I have to say now?'' ( according to the Akron Beacon Journal)
To the bitter end this jerk mocked the system, his victims, and the victims' families with his flippant attitude.

I think the article even said he tried to break out once over the last 22 years, what nerve. Then he gets himself fat eating food bought by the tax payers and tries to use his obesity to get out of lethal injection. Fine, fire squad, public stoning, Roman tiger pit, turn him over to the victims' families, any of these options would have worked for me!

if you read the article yourself,, scroll to the bottom of the page to the comments section and you will see that I am not the only one glad that Ohio had the backbone to carry out this long over due justice. There is only one person I saw in the multitude of comments that was berating others "for celebrating someones death", and the other commenter's set her straight LOL. Something like this is not a celebration of death it is a celebration of justice, of closure for the families involved...hopefully.

I have a radical idea about death row inmates, well two ideas really. I know they would never be implemented, but they are still good ideas to me. You will have to check back and see what they are.....

Aren't Costumes Fun?

I think I mentioned before that I think Halloween is fun. I have the kids' Halloween Costumes all picked out, two little princesses and a wizard. I thought about maybe dressing up myself this year, especially since I help out at the preschool party.

I have always wanted to do something a little sexy and fun, but I have either not had the build, or had a party to go to at the same time LOL. I love those Genie or Belly dancer costumes, I think they are so pretty. Maybe something like this..

But I bet it would not go over so well at the preschool party LOL. ( Did I mention that the preschool is at a church?) I think I might have a better reception with something like this

I hope one day to maybe be a sexy belly dancer, or maybe a genie, but for now I am a mommy to young children. So I will be happy to be an apple and make them smile.

Would you have the guts to wear a sexy costume to a kids' party? LOL Not anything really bad like a naughty nurse or anything, but like the belly dancer. It actually covers more than some outfits I see the high school girls wearing these days! That site I went to had all sorts of options, even cool couples costumes. Maybe next year I will talk my hubby in to doing a whole family theme dress up.

Funny But Serious Commercial

I was driving the other day and I heard this commercial on the radio. Now since I was driving and referring a bickering match in the back seat, I missed bits of the commercial. From what I caught ( don't quote me word for word), I think a woman was in a check out line at a store and the checker says "ma'am you have a python wrapped around your leg" and the woman responds " oh yea, I have been meaning to get that looked at" and the checker replies, "but that is a rather huge snake, you should see somebody", and the woman keeps brushing off the checker's advice.

The gist of the commercial is how people put of seeing a doctor even when they are faced with signs that something is wrong. I think at the end the sound you hear is suppose to be the snake getting the woman lol, but I am not sure. They were talking specifically about the signs of stroke, but the same could be said of heart attack symptoms, sugar problems, anything.

I don't think it is a mistake that they used a woman for an example either, because so often we put ourselves last on the TO DO LIST. I guess this really hit home with me because it has happened to many times to people I love where if they hadn't have gotten help for something they might not be here. Some stuff you can not realize when it is happening, but try and pay closer attention to yourself and to loved ones. Go to the doctor, even if you have to make payments, that bill is less important than your life!

Pretty Panties

Do you guys ever buy lingerie? I see all the pretty things, but it is hard to coax me out of my cotton comfies. My hubby always wants me to get some of those short little panties, I think they are called boy shorts? I found some on BitsofLace.com they call shorties. They are so pretty, all lacy and feminine, my hubby would faint! I always tell him if I could get the butt to go with it from a catalog I would buy whatever kind of underwear he wanted lol.

That Bits of Lace site I mentioned says it is the premiere source for sexy plus size bras and lingerie. They have a line called Hanky Panky Lingerie, a lot of it is really cute, but I do not think I could get up the nerve to try a Hanky Panky Thong. I had a girlfriend tell me once that thongs were more comfortable than regular underwear, but I don't know. I guess that is why they make Hanky Panky Thongs for some, and other cuts for the rest of us. I bet my hubby wouldn't be disappointed with one of the pretty baby doll nighties I found on that site. Those are more up my alley, or maybe a pretty bra. Wearing a nice bra really does make you feel pretty,,have you ever noticed? Even if it is only you that ever sees it, pretty under clothes are worth it.

Cleaning Tips Anybody?

OK, this is going to sound like a cleaning product commercial, but I am serious. You know those shiny metal rings that go around the burners on your stove? You know how the burnt on food kind of cements itself to the metal? What do you use to get it off?

Most of the time I can get almost all of it off with Scrubber pads and elbow grease, but are there any tricks I am missing? I have heard that if you soak paper towels in ammonia, then lay them on the metal it will soften the gunk, but I can not really breath around ammonia very well. I know there are a lot of moms that read blogs, so help me out,, what do you use besides elbow grease or a jack hammer?

Recovering From Water Damage

Have you ever been through a flood or maybe a sewer back up? Last year we had a huge amount of rain in our area and of course, our sump pump died. We contacted our insurance company and they said we were not covered either. If you live in a high water area I would suggest you check your policy.

I like so many did not think about this type of thing happening because it does not happen all that often in most areas. Then again even if you don't live in a rainy local or whatever, you could still have a flood. What if your washing machine line breaks, or your water heater?

It was such a pain cleaning all our belongings up, the ones the were even salvageable anyway. It took us days. I wish I would have known about Water Restoration companies, but it never occurred to me at the time to look for one. Waterrestoration911.com says they have 24 / 7 service and are usually there within 30 minutes...heck I can't even get that kind of service from a pizza place anymore. I think I am going to make a list of things to do for certain emergencies like floods, fires, etc. It is so hard to think straight when something bad actually happens. I need to plan beforehand.

Sooo Yummy!

A couple of blog friends and I were talking about "yummy" men. I did a post the other day about some hot hollywood guys. Well this week one friend has a hot hollywood / sports star on her blog and I have to agree he is pretty yummy.what do you think? They other friend has a different Hollywood hunk posted to celebrate Columbus Day lol.

Which of these two gets your vote? Or who else is your favorite hollywood hottie? Male or Female.

Searching For Comfy Socks and Leggings

My youngest daughter has been going through the "my clothes don't feel right" phase. Seems on underwear, socks, pants, tags on clothing, everything feels "yucky" to her. I have been on the hunt for soft, smooth clothing. I have managed to find some undies she will wear..some days, but I really need to find some socks and Leggings for winter. The no socks with her little canvas shoes that have become her favorite are not going to cut it when the snow flies.

I found a site called HUE.COM they have all sorts of socks and leggings. I didn't see kids sizes, but I think I will email them to make sure because they sound really great. The have those tiny little sock liners, all the way up too boot length socks and even those leggings that have the lace trim at the bottom.

How soft does the name "cloud sock" sound, or cashmere socks? I might have to bounce back over there and do a little shopping for me even if they do not have kids sizes. I know mommies aren't suppose to shop for themselves,, just don't tell anyone lol!

Shemar Moore

Shemar Moore was on the Ellen Degeneres show and made an awesome comment. He said that there was a lady out there that could not seem to find a man to treat her right (not an exact quote), and that he would like to offer to fill the bill. Who was the lady? Jennifer Aniston! Wow, how awesome is that?

He is right though, she does seem to be getting one bozo after another, if I were Jennifer I would definitely give him my number, heck I would give him my number now except I don't think my hubby would appreciate it LOL!

If they hit it off they would make some gorgeous babies don't you think?

I could not resist adding this clip from the Ellen show...

Do You Play Poker?

I love playing poker. a friend of mine showed me how to play online poker a year or so ago. I prefer going somewhere like Vegas to play, but hey I can't do that very often LOL. I like playing Texas Hold Em online, or in a casino. I think my favorite game to play in real life though is LET IT RIDE. My parents took me to Las Vegas once and we had a blast playing let it ride together. I think the reason I like this particular poker game the best, is that it is more social since you are not really playing against the person sitting next to you, you are playing against the house. If you have a laid back dealer you can talk to each other or tease each other about your cards and just have fun.

I was thinking if would be fun to have a card night party here. I think it would be fun to play a little of everything, Hold Em,,draw poker, maybe even a little euchre to mix things up. I found this cool site where you can get all sorts of Poker Products , I stopped by Netpokerchips.com and I could go crazy shopping there. Of course I like shopping even more than playing cards on the right day LOL

Boo Hooey for Cooey

I am so tired of criminals getting treated with kid gloves in this country. I am all for due process, but the system has been twisted and abused until it is so out of whack that I don't think the criminals fear getting caught. What will happen to them if they are caught? They will be locked up,,,maybe,,, but they will have cable, and free schooling, free health care..better than most decent Americans get.

I have many opinions on this topic and I am sure I will post more about it in the future, but a specific case has got me in an uproar tonight. Convicted MURDER / RAPIST Richard Cooey has been on death row in Ohio since 1986 for his part in of the torture, rape and murder of two young college girls. Cooey was sentenced to death all those years ago, and in recent years he has started with the ridiculous defense that he is too fat to be executed humanely. Is he kidding?! Well I am sure he laughs to his lawyer or his death row buddies when no one else is around, but offers this scam as seriousness to the public. He states that since he is so fat it would be hard for prison workers to find his veins, or that the diabetes medicine he takes might make sum of the pre-execution numbing drugs not work properly. I for one would be OK with that.

I am so sick of these animals who prey on innocent people whining their way to old age. Why should I have to pay for him to sit on his ever widening butt, and then let him use this as an excuse not to have his sentence carried out. Death sentences are suppose be carrying out in a HUMANE manner. To me this means we maybe should not take them out and drag them to death, or have them stampeded to death,,,hmm...but anyway. To me it would not be inhumane for this vicious animal to feel a burning sensation in his veins before he takes his last breath.

He and the other man convicted in this heinous crime were not so concerned with the pain of their victims or their families' pain. I am sure it has to be a slap in the face for the families every time they have to see him in the media, whining about humane execution. The attack on these woman was so severe that one authority at the time said it was like nothing he had ever seen, and this idiot is carrying on about a little pain before he dies. Cooey has been on death row longer than each of these girls got to live, when stuff like this is allowed to continue, it is not due process,, it is overdue justice.

I Wish I Was Skinny Like a Hollywood Mom

It is not fair that all the things you do as a new mom make you fatter. You run around like a chicken all day, you hardly eat, unless you count the crusts from PB & J sandwiches. On top of all this you get very little sleep. These things added all together conspire to make you gain weight, which gives you less energy, and makes you more sad, and who has time for exercise! LOL

I always see these Hollywood actresses that bounce back to their pre-baby weight in like 2 weeks. I know if I had a personal trainer, a chef, a masseuse etc that I would have a chance at bouncing back like that too. I wonder what else they really do? It was big news this week that "Angelina" might have gotten a tummy tuck,,,so what! I would too if I had her money.

I found this site that says they have the Best Diet Pills. The site is called LAB88.com and they bill themselves as the "Health Center to the Stars". They carry a whole range of weight loss pills, energy pills like Hoodia, and even cleansing supplements. I would really love to at least try a cleansing regimen. It makes sense to me that you need to clean out your body once in awhile with all that we put ourselves through every day. I am sure they can't make me look like a movie star, but if I could just lose weight and have more energy I would be happy.

LL COOL J Hot Clothes

I just got done watching Conan O'Brien on late night TV. One of his guests was Rapper - Actor LL Cool J.

LL was talking about how he created a new clothing line that will sell exclusively at Sears Department stores. Part of his motivation is to help create jobs for the unemployed, and by selling his line at Sear stores, he keeps the line affordable and accessible to more people than some celebrity clothing lines.

LL has always seemed like a really nice person, this just helps confirm my suspicions that he is the real deal. I know that he will benefit from this venture, but he could just as easily made a deal with a higher end retailer for more money. Thanks for being one of the good guys LL!

Bilaal Rajan, Making Change

What an inspiration....I just got done reading an article on a philanthropist and published author named Bilaal Rajan. He has helped raise over five million dollars for charity. While that fact alone can be an inspiration, the truly amazing part is that Bilaal is only 12 years old!

Since the very young age of four, this young Canadian boy has felt compelled to do something to help children who were less fortunate than himself. His first fundraiser was selling clementines, which collected 350.00 for victims of an earthquake in India. Since then he has continued his efforts and has encouraged corporations to donate everything from food to medicine through UNICEF. Bilaal is now the Children's UNICEF Representative for Canada.

He says his current goal is to inspire 1 million young people to find their true potential and help affect positive change in the world. This incredible young man has written a book about his accomplishments and how others can follow in his footsteps, it is called “Making Change: Tips from an Underage Overachiever”. I have not read the book yet, but it is getting good reviews and sounds awesome.

If you want to help Bilaal in his efforts for children all over the world, you can buy his book, or by making a donation. Charity in all forms is a wonderful thing, but charity that benefits children always seem to be all the more special to me. I can not imagine accomplishing so much at such a young age, but Bilaal proves age does not matter when it comes to making big things happen. How much better would the world be if we would all follow his example?

Lucky Marbits Does Have The Same Ring To It

Did you know that the marshmallow pieces in Lucky Charms are called MARBITS? This is short for MARshmallow BITS, makes sense but I never really thought about them having a special name. I also did not know that these marbits are actually little pieces of circus peanuts. I say this on that Food Network Show UNWRAPPED, I love that show!

Of course I love most Food Network, HGTV, and TLC shows,,, yes I watch too much TV, but when you are up at all hours with a baby, it can be a sanity saver let me tell you.

Time For Halloween Parties !

I love the fall, I think I might even like this season better than the Christmas season. The beautiful leaves, the crisp air, and the temperature is just right to me. Around here almost as many people put up autumn decorations as Christmas decorations too...it is really getting popular.

It is also fun to throw Halloween parties or "harvest parties" as some call them. I love throwing parties for the kids, but I have always wanted to throw a party for the "big kids" too. I saw some really fun ideas at Celebrations.com, how awesome would a Halloween themed wine tasting party for the adults be. They give an interesting list of wines that would be appropriate for a Halloween wine tasting such as; "vampire wines" originally made from grapes grown in Transylvania, one that comes in a coffin shaped box, or even one whose name translates to "Cellar of the Devil", how fun.

There is even a part in their Halloween activities section that tells you how to have a "Green Halloween". Their Kids' pumpkin patch party looks really cool too. The pumpkin cake they show is adorable ... there are so many cool ideas on this site. I wish I would have found this site a few weeks ago. There is a cardboard chandelier decoration there that would have been great for a party she just had.

Harvest Moon?

Where do people come up with the emails that go around? So many of them are simply hilarious. Take this one for instance.

And there is this other one I found on a blog I frequent called The Cajun Blogger,, check it out,,it is hilarious too! That reminds me I need to see if they have a good gumbo recipe over there, that would be great with this chill in the air...yum!

Would You Recognize a Heart Attack?

My husband called me from school the other day and said that I might have to come drive him home because he was not feeling well. He had been having back problems the day before and was attributing his symptoms to his back, but he said his one side felt kind of numb. I was like , "what if it is NOT your back!?" It did turn out to be his back, but I was still worried.

I was looking around and found out that St. Jude Medical Center has put together this website called InsideCardiacArrest.com. It talks about what they call SCA or Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and says that it kills 900 people a day....yes a day! There are different videos that explain the warning signs and symptoms like Irregular heartbeat. You can check your risk factors there too. It says that it is best to get treatment within 4 - 6 minutes of the onset of symptoms so being able to identify these symptoms properly can save your life!

"FEY"ding Interest

Ok now everyone is entitled to their own opinion , even actors and other celebrities. I was so jazzed when I heard that Tina Fey was going to play Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live because I knew Fey would nail the portrayal, and I had always thought Tina Fey was funny. I am afraid she had lost a few cool points with me,,,why? ....because I saw a clip of her at some celeb function the other day and she was just gushing about how she could not wait to be done playing "this lady" " I hope to be done playing this lady by November 3rd, so if anyone can help me be done by November 3rd, that would be great!"

Now I know I probably didn't get that right word for word, but I captured the sentiment. Oh poor Ms. Fey, I am so sorry that she dislikes portraying "this lady" so much that she is dying to be done. Well , ya know what? I bet you could have said no to big check SNL probably gave you to come back. In fact I bet you could still walk away. There are plenty of other look a likes around that would not mind the dough. Or as another alternative, maybe the money you make from this horrible job can be sent to me to pay my bills,,, and I won't complain a bit!

Not that my opinion of Tina Fey or Sarah Palin, or anyone else is going to matter, but I had to get that off my chest.

Satellite Navigation To The Rescue

I was wishing the other day that I had a GPS satellite Navigation gizmo for my van. I am the type of person that can get across the country if I have a map, but don't ask me to go to next city even without one. I found http://www.handtec.co.uk/ they have all sorts of major brands like GARMIN, TOM TOM, MAGELLAN and more. Now to figure out which one would be the best for us. Wow there are 5 different ways to contact support. I love good customer support. When I want help, I want it now, and I want to understand the person I am talking to.

Do you have a GPS unit in your vehicle? What did we all do before all this technology? Sometimes I wonder if I could have ever survived back in the pioneer days. or navigate by the stars they way sailors use to do. I think I would have gone around in circles a lot LOL. With Sat Nav you just punch in where you want to go and boom, directions! I wonder what the real Magellan would think about that.

We should have gotten one a few weeks ago when my hubby was still doing his summer job. They had him driving all over creation. We would usually print out maps before he left, but if you run in to something unexpected, then what do you do? It use to be fairly safe to pull over and ask for directions, but these days, I would rather stay in my car. Anyway, back to shopping so I can pick the right one.

I Am So Observant

I had to go to a neighboring city today to take care of some business. My dad went with me, and we had breakfast at a local McDonald's. I was sitting there, chatting with dad thinking,, "this McDonald's has a football theme" I was admiring the pennants hanging up, and the footballs in this big lexan tube. Even the chair back and dividers had a football design in the metal work.

I eat a little more, and chat a little more. Then it dawns on me... I am in Canton, Ohio which is home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame... in my defense I was only on my second cup of caffeine for the day LOL!

Bonding Over Paintball

I have always wanted to try paintball. I used to do all sorts of "tomboy" type things when I was a young girl. You would be much more likely to find me playing GI Joes with the boys than Barbie with the girls.

I have been trying to think of something fun and different to do for my 10th anniversary that is coming up soon. One of my friends mentioned paintball, and the scene from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, popped into my head. That was a great movie, and that scene always made paintball look so fun.

I started looking around the internet for info on paintball in my area. I can not decided if I want to just go to a place and rent equipment or buy a whole set up. There are so many different things you can get at this site army paintball guns, Tippmann A-5, Smart Parts Ion, Spyder Pilot , hoppers, markers, pods, wow so many options, even different things to wear. Wait, I see a live chat button....I love live chat help. I think I will go talk to them and see what I need to get started.

7 Year old Boy Goes on Zoo Killing Spree

OMG! What is wrong with people! They say there have always been horrible things done by bad people, but now days they are just publicized more. What I heard this morning is just above and beyond sick! The report said that a 7 year old Australian Boy broke in to a zoo and began feeding animals to the zoo's 440lbs crocodile, including a beloved 20 year resident goanna. Other horrors included the child beating lizards to death with rocks, how disgusting!

I do not even have the right words to express my disgust and outrage. Some of the gruesome escapade was caught on security video. I have not even gotten up the stomach to watch this clip, so I do not know how bad it is WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK,,,, probably not right after breakfast.

What is this world coming too?

Fossett's Plane Found

Well they did locate the wreckage of Mr. Fossett's airplane in the Mountains of California. It was reported that wreckage was of a major explosion. For whatever reason he must have crashed into the mountain, remains have been found also. Hopefully this will let the family know that Mr. Fossett at least went out in grand fashion and did not suffer. I did not know Mr. Fossett, but I can only imagine that this kind of dramatic ending to his life would be preferred, by the adventurous millionaire, instead of passing in some ordinary manner. God bless his family and his soul,,,may he rest in peace.

I Hate Unidentified Phone Numbers

Don't you love that you have to pay if you want your phone number unlisted? You have to sign up for a special list to tell telemarketers "DO NOT CALL". You try not to give your phone out whenever possible to limit junk phone calls, and you pay for caller ID so that you can know who is calling your house.

I don't think I have ever gotten a random phone call that I was glad I received. What is the point of caller ID if businesses can still come up as UNKNOWN or UNAVAILABLE!? There is this cool new site where you can look up an unknown Phone Number Info and see if anyone else has had an experience with the phone number such as scam calls or pranks etc. You can add comments about a phone number that someone else has already posted or you can start a post on a phone number you have dealt with. I think it is a pretty cool idea.

Would you ever do business with a company that would hide behind unknown?

Fosset Finally Located?

A man named Preston Morrow may have found some clues to help unravel the disappearance of Steve Fossett. Morrow was hiking in Eastern California when he spotted some items in some bushes, including; 3 different ID cards containing Steve Fossett's name and 1005.00 in cash. He said that he did not see any airplane wreckage or human remains. Morrow said that he turned the items over to local police after his attempts to reach the Fossett family failed.

A lawyer for the Fossett family says they are looking in to the reports to verify their truth. Authorities had been looking mostly in the Northern part of the state originally and called off the search after covering some 20,000 square miles. Mr. Fossett disappeared on September 3, 2007 and was declared legally dead in February 2008. This could be a major breakthrough in the case if the items are in fact Mr. Fossett's

What I found interesting is that Mr. Morrow did not even realize who Steve Fossett was when he found the items until some of his coworkers told him of the greater importance of what he had found. I tend to believe the report to be true since Mr. Morrow also turned over the cash to the authorities, he could have just as easily pocketed the money and no one would have been the wiser.

Hopefully these items will lead to the remains of Mr. Fossett and some closure for the Fossett family.

Finding Sex Offenders in Florida

It is a little unnerving having kids these days. Some people say things were always as bad, but that no one talked about it. Do you think that is true. I know there have always been sick people in the world, but it seems like there are more everyday.

I like to keep an eye out in my neighborhood for any sex offenders living or working in the area. I also like to check the neighborhoods where my family or friends live and keep them posted. If you have family in Florida you can go here Florida Sex Offenders, and check by county, city, or zip. I think it is always best to stay informed. There is also a link there to the national database for other states too.
