The 35 Pound Elephant

I have found a creature that you may or may not have encountered. They are only found in houses with children, and are more likely to come out if someone in the house is sleeping. That is when I usually hear the rumblings of the 35 pound elephant.

Well of course there is not really a small elephant in my house, but it sure sounds like it every time I lay my youngest child down for a nap. His sisters that are about 35 pounds somehow magically turn into tiny little elephants. These same beautiful creatures that can twirl like ballerinas and have the daintiest tea parties you could imagine, turn in to romping, stomping beasts.

You can hear them rumble across the floor from their play room, them BOOM BOOM BOOM up the stairs. This is usually followed by their particular kind of trumpeting call. It does not sound like a traditional elephant, but more like " I HAVE TO PEE!", or "SHE TOOK MY TOY!". It happens several times a week and yet it still amazes me. Have you ever encountered this phenomenon in your house?
