You Skinny Cow

I have been trying to get in better shape lately, but it is not easy. It is kind of a catch 22 when you need energy to exercise, but if you exercise you will have more energy. I know this to be true, but it is a hard hurdle to get over.

I have been at least trying to make better choices when I eat and control my portion sizes. I figure every little bits adds up in the end right? My husband bought some non-fat milk the other day because he is trying to do better as well. I was like NO WAY, I would rather do without milk. Then he mentioned the fact that they must have stopped calling it "skim" milk and instead call it non-fat milk. I think this is a good idea, because the word SKIM never seemed appetizing anyway.

I have to drink Lactaid milk because I am lactose intolerant. It dawned on me that since regular Lactaid tastes sweeter than regular milk, maybe non-fat Lactaid would not be so bad. I gave it a try and I am pleasantly surprised that is does taste pretty good. I wonder if it is because of the Lactaid, or because our taste buds seem to change as we age. Remember when you did not like coffee, or anything else that was bitter, and now it tastes good? I don't know, but I am glad to find one more "good for me" thing that I can add to my habits.
