You Skinny Cow
I have been trying to get in better shape lately, but it is not easy. It is kind of a catch 22 when you need energy to exercise, but if you exercise you will have more energy. I know this to be true, but it is a hard hurdle to get over.
I have been at least trying to make better choices when I eat and control my portion sizes. I figure every little bits adds up in the end right? My husband bought some non-fat milk the other day because he is trying to do better as well. I was like NO WAY, I would rather do without milk. Then he mentioned the fact that they must have stopped calling it "skim" milk and instead call it non-fat milk. I think this is a good idea, because the word SKIM never seemed appetizing anyway.
I have to drink Lactaid milk because I am lactose intolerant. It dawned on me that since regular Lactaid tastes sweeter than regular milk, maybe non-fat Lactaid would not be so bad. I gave it a try and I am pleasantly surprised that is does taste pretty good. I wonder if it is because of the Lactaid, or because our taste buds seem to change as we age. Remember when you did not like coffee, or anything else that was bitter, and now it tastes good? I don't know, but I am glad to find one more "good for me" thing that I can add to my habits.

Cozy Rustic Furniture
Some friends of ours invited us up to their cabin for the weekend holiday and I am so there!
They have this great what they call there cabin, I call it a lakeside chalet, and it is just so relaxing to stay there.
We went last year with them and I gotta tell you, they furnished that place with such love and character and they chose just the right rustic furniture to make it so cozy and warm.
I love the fact that the cabin is n the woods setting and there is a small stream that flows out back of it.
The bedroom we get to use has big sliding glass doors that we can leave open at night and listen to nature at it's finest...not the honks and toots of cars and trucks from the city.
We get to snuggle up in a great wooden made bed that I wish I could take home with me.
The rooms are decorated with this rustic style furniture and it just absolutely makes the place so cozy.
Some day, I keep saying, I will have this too.
But hey! For now I will share in their good fortune.

3 Hours To Ready For A 1 Hour Walk
OK now, you tell me what is wrong with this picture.
We have started our Spring Metro Parks Nature walks and we try to do at least 2 a week.
So think about this for a minute...
I have 3 children, two of which have long hair the other has like minimal hair to comb.
2 are old enough to pretty much dress themselves and the other, well that one needs a bit of help yet.
So why is it it takes me 10-15 minutes to round up the clothing of the day and it takes us all 3 hours to get dressed comb hair, go potty and put on shoes?
This is a big turbulence factor every time we go some place.
Why can't we just get our act together in oh, say 1 hour to go on a simple, little one hour walk?
Why is it you try to do nice things with your family to make life a bit more fun and interesting and it always turns out to be a chore and a half?
Once we get to the park every one is ready to walk and share in the wonderful nature experience, it is just the getting there factor.

I was so happy to hear that the little boy that was stolen at gun point from his house was found alive. He is apparently ok other than the obvious emotional trauma and the fact that the kidnappers cut his long curly hair off.
I was so happy to hear that the boy was found alive. There is not usually a good outcome to abductions. I made the mistake of scrolling down the screen that the article was on and read some of the comments people made about the boy and his family. There were several stupid remarks about whether this little boy was worth it because he was Mexican, and that he was just brought back to get on our welfare system. One person even called him a monkey!
I am ashamed and saddened that there is still people like this in America or anywhere in the world in this day and age. These are the people we should kick off of the planet, not some helpless child!

A Stylish Bathroom
Do you watch all the home makeover shows and remodeling shows on TV? I love so many of the home and garden type shows, my hubby and I watch them all the time. We love seeing all the new trends in colors and styles each year. Dream about the perfect bedroom, living room bathrooms, etc.
I especially love all the cool fixtures the designers use in the bathroom remodels. One day I want to have a nice bathroom with all the bells and whistles. I found this site called FountainDirect.co.uk, they have the most awesome collection of bathroom fixtures and accessories that I have ever seen. Everything from a bathroom radiator, to a shower enclosure and anything else you could want for your bathroom.
I think the biggest luxury I would like to have is underfloor heating in my next bathroom. How nice would it be to walk on warm floor first thing in the morning, or when you are all toasty warm from a long soak. No more having the floor chill your bones after your hot shower, I can almost feel my warm toes now! Check out this site if you are looking for anything for your bathroom.
