Shirt Flirt

How many times have you walked by someone with an imprint on their shirt or uniform and actually read it?
Have you ever noticed that a product you are familiar with has a logo? Like your soda pop companies for example.
You can look at that company's insignia without any words and recognize which product it is.
That is because it was made with your mind in mind...they say a picture is worth a thousand words and it is true.
I don't particularly care for the imprints that depict I am with ----- nor I am -----, but there is a place for these type of shirts.
I also like to see the artsy print ones where someone makes up a beautiful design and shares it with the world.
Did you ever think to put on a shirt something a little flirty, like, oh, I like long walks on the beach, sunsets and baby puppies, call me...
See how many calls you get..if you are single that is...lol.
There are probably local printing shops you can get one made at, but if not, you could go online at many websites like 123print t-shirts for example and get on done for you.
Shirt imprints can be fun or serious. It depends on what you area in need of.
I is like a walking bill board, but much cheaper.
You could even get a picture of your children, grad children or favorite pet printed on it.

Are YOU in to Genealogy?

If you are a genealogy buff like I am you might want to check out this cool site called Find-a-Grave. This is a great site for finding the burial location of long lost relatives that you have been searching for.

The best thing about the site is that it mainly works through volunteer power. You can sign up for free to become a member or contributor as they call it, then you can help others find graves that are near you. You can still request that a member take a photo for you even if you do not have time to go and take pictures for others, but it is really a fun, interesting thing to do.

I myself do not have a bunch of time since I have three small kids, but I have managed to take about 8 photos for other people to date. Once you submit these photos to the site, then they become part of the site and make it better. I love volunteerism, and I love genealogy so this is right up my alley. You can start a search from the box that I added to bottom of my blog, or visit FindaGrave.com to check it out.

If you do sign up and you have an AOL email address you may have to email the site owners to finish signing up. There is some sort of compatibility glitch with this site and AOL. I just went ahead and used another email address I had, but either way I am glad I signed up.

Dedicated Servers Are Dedicated To What?

Have you ever heard of a dedicated server or dedicated hosting ? From what I am gathering it is a specialized type of web hosting. I think the kind that we are all more familiar with is called shared hosting. A dedicated server or host is actually pretty self explanatory in the name, in that it is dedicated just to you and your business. What I was not quite sure of though was why somebody would need dedicated hosting.

Where do I head lately when I have a web hosting question, I pop over to WebHostingGeeks.com. This is a great site when you have questions that pertain to hosting of any kind. You can also check out prices at ratings for the different hosting companies that are out there. According to these folks you need a server all to your self when your business grows and the amount of web traffic exceeds normal hosting space.

The web geeks have a useful blog section where you can learn answers to your web hosting questions. The post titled Choosing Between a Dedicated Server and Managed Hosting can explain this particular issue way better than I can. So be sure and check this site out if you want to learn more about the web!

Legend Les Paul Dies at age 94

The legendary guitar man Les Paul has passed away at the age of 94. I knew that he was famous for electric guitars, but I did not realize that he invented dubbing techniques that were important to the music industry.

I also did not know that he made songs with his wife for many years. He even won a grammy four years ago at the age of 90. He was in the hospital at that time and joked that he felt like a condemned building with a new flag pole on it....lol. He must have had quiet a sense of humor.

You can read the whole article on his passing as well as other related articles on Les Paul on the NPR.ORG website.

"ROCK" in Peace Mr. Paul!

Shopping For Term Life Insurance?

It is one of those facts of life, you need insurance. Car insurance, home owner's insurance, health insurance, life insurance and sometimes other types of insurance. None of us really like to deal with paperwork or tracking down the best deal on whatever insurance we need, but we do want to get the best deal we can on good coverage right?

I found this site called AdvantageTermLife.com and while it says term life in the site name, they handle other types of insurance as well. You can go to there site and fill out a simple form and they can compare prices and give you a quote, easy, I love easy!

I found a very interesting section on how you can lower your insurance premiums. They have a list of different things to think about when buying a policy, like only buying the coverage you really need, or only adding riders if they are absolutely necessary. It sounds simple and makes sense, but often we do not think of these things ahead of time. So check this site out if you are wanting to make sure that your insurance needs are in order, and that you are getting a good deal on the coverage you need.
