I was reading an article today about how one of the most popular internet auction sites wants to lean more toward the retail side of sales. I have many different feelings on this because I have both bought and sold on this site. The main point of the article was why on Earth would they want to compete with online retail giants like Zappos.com?
I have been to this site before and they have just about anything you could want, and I hear that their customer service is top notch. I was looking today at their selection of items by The North Face company. If you are into hiking, backpacking, or any other outdoor activity you have probably heard of them. Well one thing that I always forget about Zappos.com is that they have a 365 day return policy, yes a whole year to return items. What's more the shipping is free BOTH ways.
With all those things going for the site, why would any other company try and compete with that? Whether you are shopping for outdoor gear, or any of several thousand other items, it is worth checking out the selection at this site for sure.

Give The Lady Back Her Van Already
Don't you just love the stories where someone finds an item they lost many years ago. Lately I have read several of these types of story in the news, and they never fail to make me smile. There was a lady who had her wedding ring found that she lost while gardening, another lady had her ring returned ( I forget the details at the moment). There was even a set of now rare books returned to a library after years, complete with a check for 1000 dollars to cover the late fees.
The most resent lost and found story I read was one of a lady who had her Volkswagen Bus stolen from her in 1974. Her insurance company ( Allstate) paid her at the time for her loss and she moved on with her life probably sure that she would never see the vehicle again. Then in a fluke of circumstance the van was found in a container ship that was seized by customs agents. The lady was lucky enough that her vehicle was intact after all these years, and that she actually found out about it. What's even better is that this van has been restored by a shop and is in great condition.
Here's the kicker....Since Allstate paid off on the claim back in 1974, they technically own the vehicle. Michele Squires wants to by the van back, but since it is now worth an estimated 25,000 at minimum, it seems that the happy ending will be out of her reach. Allstate sounds like they are planning to sell the vehicle at auction, where is could go for even more than that. This lady has worked at the same restaurant for 30 years. She is obviously and loyal, hardworking woman. Give her and me a break and give the van back.
I am sure that Allstate did not really think they would ever recoup any monies from this claim..move on and get the good PR and the thanks of a customer. I think everyone that uses Allstate should write or email and tell them you think they should give the van to Ms. Squires too. Hey how about 25,000 of us kick in a buck? I am in,,, how about you?

Shopwiki Season
Well folks, shopping season is upon us once again. I think the Christmas decorations were in the stores this year before Halloween was even over. By next year they will probably put the Christmas stuff out right after St. Patrick' day.
If you are in the same boat I am in, you need to stretch your holiday budget to the max this year. I want to make informed decisions on the items I buy so that I get what I need or want at the best price possible. That is one of the main reason that I like shopping at Shopwiki.com, because I can use their Buying Guides.
For any of you folks that are in other countries. Shopwiki is expanding their websites to include more countries such as The Netherlands, Germany, France and more. You can look at the bottom of the Shopwiki.com site to find links to the sites for other countries as well.
I highly recommend that you check out this site whether you need to do comparison shopping in the UK or any other country, to make your shopping easier and make your money go farther this year.

The Toothfairy is on the loose
Well my baby is definitely getting bigger. She lost her first tooth and second tooth all in the same night. She looks so cute with that huge gap in her smile. I was trying to remember where the picture of me at that stage is, but I have yet to find it.
Everyone tells me that I am lucky that she got her school pictures taken a few weeks ago. They would have looked good either way, but I am glad that we got both phases photographed for posterity.
What is the milestone that you likes the best or look forward to the most. Maybe there is one that you dreaded for whatever reason. Let me hear from all you moms and dads out there.
